Bradenton Marauders first baseman Alex Dickerson has been named the Player of the Year in the Florida State League.
The announcement came Monday from league president Chuck Murphy, who also unveiled the league's postseason All-Star team.
Dickerson is batting .299 with 12 home runs and 88 RBI in 124 games with Bradenton and is second in the league in RBIs, hits (141) and doubles (31).
The Marauders are in second place in the FSL South Division, 2 1/2 games back of first-place Jupiter. Their game Monday was postponed in anticipation of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Isaac.
They host Fort Myers in a doubleheader beginning 5 p.m. Tuesday.
