Former Marauders reliever Diego Moreno is part of the package being sent to the New York Yankees in exchange for pitcher A.J. Burnett, according to this story in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Moreno, 25, had two separate stints with the Marauders beginning in 2010, when he posted a 1.17 ERA in 28 games and limited opponents to a .105 batting average. He was promoted to Double-A Altoona midway through the year.

He spent seven games with the Curve in 2010 and seven with them again in '11 before returning to the Bradenton, where he went 2-4 with a 3.21 ERA in 34 games.

The Yankees will get Moreno and another Pirates' prospect, outfielder Exicardo Cayones, in exchange for Burnett, according to the Tribune-Review. The Pirates also agreed to pay $13 million of the $33 million Burnett is owed over the next two seasons, the story says.

Because the deal involves money, it has to approved by commissioner Bud Selig, according to the Tribune-Review.
